Hassan II Mosque in Casa Blanca, Morocco

One of the largest functioning mosque in Africa and the 7th largest in the world, Hassan II Mosque in Casa Blanca, Morocco, held Tarawih prayer last night with 800,000 people praying shoulder-to-shoulder. During Ramadan, Tarawih is a spiritual meditative communal prayer meant to take the mind away from life’s grind and into an oasis of calm and reflection.Rich and poor, old and young, black and white take equal part in Islamic prayers to build the wall of unity described in the Quran as laid bricks.
